Topic 1: Where All Winning Athletes Start:
Every winning team or individual has a philosophy. Creating the energy that drives and supports the team or individual is a must! This topic gets you started on the right track.
Topic 2: Getting More from Your Sport:
How are dreams turned into reality? Why do some athletes learn to go beyond winning to becoming champions? Learn the answers to both questions and much more with an easy process to put into your sporting workout. You'll also learn how you can have it all - just not all at once! Prioritizing is a key factor all champions learn to develop in their pursuit for personal bests.
Topic 3: Brain Basics:
Understanding how the conscious and subconscious areas of the brain work, is a necessity before any athlete begins their mental workout. All aspects of how an athlete’s brain functions and its relationship to increasing superior athletic ability are reviewed.
Topic 4: Positive Sport Talk Made Easy & Visualization - a Key Ingredient to Winning:
Positive self-talk is as old as dirt, but few people know how or why
they should do it. You will learn how athletes should use positive self-talk
to reinforce what they want their bodies to do in competition. A thorough
explanation on how to train the mind to visualize - just like you train
the body for a sport, will also be provided in this session. First person,
third person and kinesthetic visualization will be explained.
Topic 5: Stress Management for Sport:
Overcoming anger, the negative chatterbox, anxieties, fear and the general
stressors of life must be dealt with, before the competition - preferably
not during or after. Learn how to stop those stressors from happening
and how to cancel them if they do happen during competition.
Topic 6: Making All the Pieces Fit:
Using the techniques in a planned mental workout to maximize benefit in the minimum amount of time. Applied Kinesiology,
tying up loose ends and developing a personal plan for mental training, will be tackled in this session.
Topic 7: The Mental Side of Coaching:
A section for parents and coaches on how to use Topics 1 - 6 and how to improve their coaching and support skills as parents.
It's an informative session for those people who influence the athletes the most during their training years.
